Rights come before upload
The upload field is the first gate: an image enters the workflow only after you have asserted the rights behind it.
PHOTO RIGHTS
Animate a photo only when you hold the rights and the consent behind it. This page covers who may appear, what consent means here, and what gets refused.
The preview collects nothing. Open Image to Video to upload a real file after the rights question is settled.
This preview never uploads, stores, or generates media.
Open Image to VideoThree checks run before a photo becomes a first frame, and none of them can be resolved by prompt wording.
The upload field is the first gate: an image enters the workflow only after you have asserted the rights behind it.
Only adults, and only with consent for this use. Requests involving a real third party are refused rather than quietly generated.
Source image, motion prompt, and settings sit on one form, so the decision to animate is separated from the decision to spend Credits.
Rights first, then upload, then spend. The order is deliberate.
Establish that the subject is an adult, that you hold the rights, and that consent covers this use. If any of those is unclear, stop here.
Upload the file and describe one motion. Keep the frame crop you want, because the source decides the output canvas.
Review the estimate and submit. The result lands in your own history, where it stays private to your account.
Three legitimate photo workflows, each with consent already accounted for.
A creator animating their own portrait holds both the rights and the consent, so the only remaining decisions are motion and settings.
A commissioned shoot with a signed release lets the photographer animate frames the model has already agreed to.
Fictional subjects generated in Text to Image can then be animated, which sidesteps third-party consent altogether.
These refusals apply to every photo request, whatever the plan or model.
Photo-driven generation is the most sensitive path, so third-party likenesses are refused unless consent is clear and specific.
Only adults may be depicted. Age-ambiguous subjects are refused regardless of prompt wording.
Possessing a file is not permission to generate from it. Rights and consent are separate questions from access to the image.
A permitted source can still produce a poor clip, and no particular result or commercial clearance is promised.
Who may appear in a photo, what consent has to mean, and which requests are refused.
Your own photo, or one where the person appears with informed consent for this specific use and you hold the rights to process it. Anything else is refused.
Consent is permission for this use, given by an adult who understands where the material will go. A photo taken at a party is not consent to generate adult video from it.
Yes. Intimate or sexual material of a real person without their consent is prohibited whether or not the file was obtained legitimately.
Portraits of public figures, colleagues, ex-partners, and anyone who cannot be asked are refused. There is no exception for 'just a test'.
Adults only. A subject whose age is unclear is refused, and adding 'adult' to the prompt does not change that.
The request is blocked before generation and the Credits are not spent on it. Repeated attempts affect account standing.
Confirm you hold the rights and consent for the photo, upload it, and review the estimate before generating.
